A Community Outreach of Dayton New York

While there have been endless hours of work, it has truly been an honor to be part of this vision. For the first year the building was never locked, people would go and work all hours of the day and night. The building has been gutted one hundred percent by volunteers.and is probably about 30% back together - mostly by volunteers. There have been teams both young and old that have come from as far south as Jamestown, NY and as far north as Brockport, NY that have worked their hearts out all day. Before the teams left, they asked when they could come again. While all of us may be tired by the end of the day, it truly doesn't feel like work - every heart is joyful. We are always sure to make time to play and to have fellowship before calling it at a day. Another thing that is always a must - there is good food for the workers and a gracious smile of thanksgiving. With the help of volunteers there have been several fundraising/outreach events, like barbecue chicken, concerts, car shows, all hollows eve party and even feeding those in need at thanksgiving time. unforunetly everything has to stop during the winter as it is to cold and we have yet to be able to afford a heat sorce.. We even had our first wedding recieption ! ! Instead of walls there were sheets stapled to the walls and ceiling.
